Are there plans for alumni access to library resources, off campus?

I no longer live in CT. To my understanding, multiple people have asked over the years, and there seems to be no progress in enabling what arguably is a privilege issue in your user database. It is unfortunate that something so simple is so contrived.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide access from off-campus due to our contracts with the resource providers; the vendors who provide our databases and e-resources prohibit us from providing remote online access to anyone who is not a current student, faculty or staff member at CCSU.  To pursue access for alumni would involve changing our licenses to include this additional service.  This would have to be done for each resource on an individual basis and would also be subject to the ability of each vendor to provide such access.  Where this type of access is offered by the vendor, we would also be required to pay additional annual fees for each resource in order to provide the service.  These fees tend to be very high, which prohibits us from pursuing this service due to the limitations of our library budget.
